The Endeavour Magazine

Mission Statement

Our object is to promote a faithful Bible-based response to issues which confront us both in thought and in day-to-day living.

The Endeavour Magazine is published so that the range of views which exist within our Christadelphian Brotherhood may be discussed and represented, and so that issues of wider concern may also be studied and analysed. We therefore encourage discussion and criticism of what appears in our pages, provided it is done in a Christ-like spirit and with a concern that truth should prevail.

The views expressed in the magazine are not necessarily those of the Editorial Committee but are published because it is believed that they will make a useful contribution to discussion, and help us all to a deeper understanding of our faith.

Articles appearing in this magazine should not be published elsewhere without the permission of the author and the editor.

Statement from the Endeavour Magazine Committee (September 2016)

Since Les Boddy retired as editor in 2014 we have been reviewing how best to proceed. The original aims of the magazine were to encourage greater support in the Christadelphian community for refugees and those in need, to enable open discussion of current challenges in a Christlike spirit of humility and mutual respect, and to help deepen our devotion and commitment to God and our Lord Jesus Christ. 

We believe that progress has been made towards achieving these aims by us and by others over the last half century of the magazine’s existence. 

In the new world of the internet, discussion now takes place much more widely than we can do in a magazine format. We have decided not to seek to appoint a new editor and we will not, therefore, publish any further issues. 

Back copies continue to be accessible online at www.endeavourmagazine.org We at present hold the money subscribed for intended future issues. Money will be returned to any subscriber who wishes it. Otherwise, after deduction of any necessary expenses, the money in hand will be donated to charities which care for others, including those helping in the current world-refugee crisis. 

We are very grateful to Les Boddy for his dedicated and inspiring editorship over more than a decade. He has superbly maintained the aims of Endeavour, often in difficult circumstances. Ruth Marsters put the magazine on a sound financial footing, kept the subscription list up to date, and did the physical hard work of distributing the magazine. We are very appreciative to her for her careful and consistent service during the editorship of both Ron Coleman and Les Boddy. Likewise we are grateful to all previous editors: James White, George and Ruth McHaffie, Wilfred Lambert, John Weaving, John Maycock, Ron Coleman. Our thanks go also to our contributors and readers and to all who have given their support. 

We pray that the good work done may be carried on in other ways, to the honour and glory of God.
